Fulton, MD — The Maryland Building Industry Association (MBIA) proudly recognized the region’s most exceptional custom home builders and architects at the 2026 Montgomery County Custom Builder Awards on February 26, 2026. The program celebrates excellence in design, craftsmanship, innovation, and overall project execution across some of the area’s most remarkable custom and speculative homes. A distinguished panel of industry experts conducted evaluations of each entry, touring both the interior and exterior of the homes. Judges also reviewed comprehensive project submissions that included architectural plans, professional photography, and detailed narratives outlining design intent, construction quality, and unique features. “In today’s competitive custom housing market, these award winners represent the highest level of talent and expertise our region has to offer,” said Lori Graf, CEO. “Their commitment to design excellence and superior craftsmanship continues to elevate the standard for home building in Montgomery County and throughout the Washington metropolitan area.” Award categories recognized outstanding achievement across a range of home styles and square footage classifications, including custom traditional homes, custom contemporary homes, and speculative residences.
