Brian Afnan Installed as 2025 President of the Maryland Building Industry Association 2025 Leadership Slate Focused on Attainable Homeownership FULTON, MD – January 23, 2025 – The Maryland Building Industry Association (MBIA) proudly announces the installation of Brian Afnan as its 2025 President. The ceremony took place today at the association’s headquarters, The Maryland Center for Housing, in Fulton, Maryland on January 23, 2025. Montgomery County Councilmember Andrew Friedson performed the installation ceremony. Brian Afnan, Founder and Principal of Afnan & Co., brings over 25 years of diverse experience in the development and real estate industry to this leadership role. Since 1998, he has demonstrated expertise in property acquisition, planning, entitlement, development, design, estimating, construction, and sales. A civil engineer by training, Brian earned both a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a Master of Engineering from Cornell University. He is an active member of the Maryland Building Industry Association and the National Association of Home Builders. His longstanding commitment to advancing the industry and his deep knowledge of Maryland’s housing market position him well to lead MBIA into a new era. Before founding Afnan & Co., Brian served as Vice President for one of the nation’s largest home building companies, holding key roles in construction, sales and marketing, land acquisition, and development. His career highlights include overseeing the sale and construction of more than 5,500 homes and managing the acquisition and development of over 2,500 lots across Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Washington, DC. Brian’s presidency will focus on addressing Maryland’s growing need for attainable homeownership.
