Building Industry Lifetime Achievement Awards and Excellence in Land Development Winners Announced Richman Receives First-Ever Professional Women in Building Council Woman of the Year award NOVEMBER 9, 2022 (Fulton, MD) - The Maryland Building Industry Association is pleased to recognize members who have made major contributions to the industry and their community. "There is something special about being recognized by your peers," said CEO Lori Graf. The awards are the premiere honors presented to dedicated and respected members of the home building community. “These awards recognize members who have distinguished themselves by their outstanding contributions and commitment to our industry,” Graf added. The Milton E. Kettler Award was presented to Russell Dickens of Elm Street Development in recognition of a lifetime of unselfish participation, contributions and service to the building and housing industry as well as the community. Russ is a long-time active member of the association. He served as MBIA President in 2014 and guided the association through the merge of HBAM and MNCBIA. He is an active member of the Howard County Chapter and past chapter chair. He serves on the Legislative Committee and Membership Committee. Russ is an active member and past council chair of the Land Development Council and of the MBIA Nominating Committee. In addition, he has served on various workgroups on behalf of the Industry. The Joseph C. Rodgers Sr. Award was presented to Michael Faerber of McMillan Metro, P.C. in recognition of his extraordinary and outstanding contributions to the Association as a non-builder member. Michael is an active member of the MBIA Executive Committee and Board of Directors. He has achieved Life Director status in the association. Michael is a member of Legislative Committee and spends a tremendous amount of time working with MBIA and Legislators on various Condo/ HOA legislation. He actively participates with the recruitment and retention of members. The Stewart J. Greenebaum Award was presented to William Pippen of Security Development Group in recognition of his extraordinary and outstanding contributions to the Association as a builder member. Will is an active member of the MBIA Board of Directors and chair of the Land Development Council. He also serves on the Legislative Committee. Will actively participated in various pieces of legislation on the state and local level (primarily Howard County) on behalf of the association. In addition, Tom Kettler of Kettler Forlines Homes was presented with the Volunteer of the Year award because he is an integral and essential advocate for the industry and devotes his time tirelessly to the association. The first-ever Professional Women in Building Council Woman of the Year award was presented to Barbara Richman Kahn of NAI - The Michael Companies for her commitment and dedication to the active participation and representation of women in the building industry.
