Lumber prices have skyrocketed more than 180% since last spring. This price spike has caused the price of an average new single-family home to increase by more than $24,000 since April 17, 2020. Similarly, the price of the average new multifamily home has increased by nearly $9,000 over the same period due to the surge in lumber prices. These sharp increases threaten housing affordability and the strength of the housing sector, which is leading the nation’s economic recovery. Join us to discuss the impact on the industry, possible alternatives and and what NAHB is doing to help solve the crisis.
A Webinar featuring panelists: NAHB's Federal Legislative Director, Alex Strong, Joe Hikel of Shelter Systems, Jim Barbes of Builders First Source, Tom Kettler & Dan Fraker of Kettler Forlines Homes, and Mike Karns & Paul Gregg of Tri Pointe Homes.
Thank you for participating in MBIA meetings and events during this time. This is just a reminder that we request people use their camera’s when possible. We aren’t seeing many people and feel it’s a nice, simple way members can connect with members, which is our organizations goal. Of course, we understand there are some circumstances / instances where cameras should be off.
