Maryland adopted the 2021 Energy Code with amendments effective May 29, 2023. Local jurisdictions have 12 months to consider and enact the 2021 IECC.

This 4- hour seminar reviews and explains significant changes from the 2018 IECC to the 2021 IECC, which includes the Maryland amendments and how best to use them. Better understanding of the reason for the changes will help the residential builder in its application.
The seminar will include building science and strategies for meeting code, common code implementation misunderstandings, and energy tradeoffs allowed by the State amendments.
Participants will be encouraged to ask questions.
Tools, resources, and support available for the ICC-700 National Green Building Standard (NGBS) alternative path will be reviewed.
