Awards of Excellence for Remodeling and Custom Building Announced November 3, 2017 (Fulton, MD) - The Remodelers Council of the Maryland Building Industry Association will announce the winners of its annual Remodeling and Custom Building Award of Excellence competition tonight at the Historic Savage Mill in Savage, Maryland. "I'm so impressed by these projects," said Rich Lang, president of the MBIA Remodelers Council. He added, "Innovative construction techniques and attention to detail make these projects stand out from the rest." This program serves to recognize excellence in remodeling design and craftsmanship, to create a greater public interest in the remodeling industry and to recognize outstanding contributions by individuals and companies in the remodeling industry. An evaluation team that consisted of remodeling contractors from around the Baltimore Metropolitan area rated all entries. The criteria used to judge the entries included: quality of construction, degree of difficulty, value and cost effectiveness, unique and creative design approach and sensitivity to existing structure. The awards are an annual opportunity for members to gain professional recognition and credibility. The competition is open to all MBIA Remodelers Council members who have completed projects meeting category requirements. MBIA Cheif Executive Officer, Lori Graf, noted that members of the Remodelers Council are committed to their craft. Graf explained,"These are not your ordinary remodelers. Our members have committed themselves to a higher standard in the product they deliver and the level of customer service they offer. These award-winning projects are a great example of their work."
